Ardenne Rally Festival The star trail in Vresse-sur-Semois
It was a bit of a gamble… but it paid off! On Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th of May, DG Sport will ensure that all rally fans will be delighted because the entry list of the 1st Ardenne Rally Festival looks simply breathtaking. There are several unlikely and original cars at the start, straight from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, cars that in their time had the biggest names at the wheel...
The organizers welcome father and son Breittmayer with open arms, who for the occasion will bring the greatest treasures from the Breitt Gallery! Emile takes the wheel of a Lancia Delta S4 Gr.B ex-Markku Alen and an Audi Quattro Gr.4 ex-Michèle Mouton and Hannu Mikkola, while dad Olivier will tame a Renault 5 Maxi Turbo ex-François Chatriot and a Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evo2 ex-Stig Blomqvist and Bruno Saby! With all those Group 4 and Group B cars, the fans will get an eye- and earful!
But that's not all! There are some other authentic gems at the start as well: Czech driver Petr Uhrik with an original Skoda Favorit 136 L 1990 ex-Stig Blomqvist, while some Dutch participants come with two Subaru Impreza 555 ex-Colin McRae (1994) and Piero Liatti (1996)!
Marc Duez is present at the wheel of an Audi Quattro Gr.4 1980, a car that he previously drove during a demo run, Jean-Pierre Vannerum comes to Vresse with a Toyota Celica ST165 1998 ex-Juha Kankkunen, Fernand Néri and Guy Wlodarczak are at the start with a Fiat Spider Abarth (1972) and Datsun 100 A (1975) – cars that look exactly as they did back then – the Frenchman Maxime Vilmot drives a Ford Escort Mk2 ex-Russell Brookes, Jean-Louis Meynart and Jacques Sestach go for a Mitsubishi Lancer EvoIII 1995, one of which is an ex-Pascal Smets. The brand with the diamonds is also represented by Quentin Barthelemy, with a Lancer EvoV 1998 ex-Gustavo Trelles. And then there is Eric Cunin, who will please the fans of François Duval with his Skoda Fabia WRC 2006.
In addition to this already impressive list of participants, there will also be many replicas at the start of the Ardenne Rally Festival, but more about that soon.
In short: to admire a piece of rally history with your own eyes, you should come to Vresse-sur-Semois on May 2nd, 3rdand 4th! Get your tickets ready!
