Ardenne Rally Festival Successful start for the Ardenne Rally Festival!

The weather gods did not cooperate until the end, but can we blame the rain for wanting to attend too? Whatever the circumstances, the inaugural edition of the Ardenne Rally Festival, a new organization of DG Sport based in rural Vresse-sur-Semois, was more than successful. High-quality entry list, passionate and curious fans, beautiful atmosphere: the concept of a motorsport event without any form of competition was a success.

With two runs on the demo stages of Pussemange, Gros-Fays and Bellefontaine, in increasingly difficult conditions, the final day of the Ardenne Rally Festival provided quite a spectacle. The historical value and pedigree of some of the cars, together with the balancing act that some fabulous drivers pulled off, certainly impressed fans. Cars such as a Peugeot 205 T16 Evo2, Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, Subaru Legacy RS Turbo and Impreza 555, Ford Escort Mk1/Mk2 and other melodious machines received unanimous approval from the public. That bodes well for the future!

“I think we can claim this was a convincing first edition,” says Florian Jupsin on behalf of organizer DG Sport. “From start to finish, one could see people with big smiles everywhere. Drivers, co-drivers, and certainly spectators. The concept of a festival without any form of competition proved to be popular, and we can already divulge that the Ardenne Rally Festival will have a second edition in the spring of 2025. We will have an extensive debriefing first and some changes will be made, but at the end of this first edition, we would first like to thank all participants who placed their trust in us. Also thanks to the entire DG Sport team, who once again did a fantastic job in a wonderful atmosphere.”

On Saturday evening, peace again descended on the region around Vresse-sur-Semois, in the sweet knowledge that in less than twelve months, the engines of iconic cars will sound again...
